Download AppThe International Behavior Analyst (IB) certification is obtained after a candidate demonstrates they have completed various educational, experiential, practice, and supervision-related tasks and activities. The IBA is an accomplishment that shows the world that the individual is a competent behavior analyst and ready to provide effective, ethical, behavioural services in homes, schools, and a variety of community settings.
The IBA program delivers a flexible but rigorous fully online Verified Course Sequence approved by the IBAO addressing all of the information required to take the International Behavior Analyst (IBA) exam. The IBA requirements are:
1. Registration,
2. Completion of Educational Requirements,
3. Completion of Candidate Projects,
4. Completion of 1000 hours of Supervised Practice,
5. Completion of 50 of Supervision,
6. Completion of 12 Hours of Continuing Education,
7. Completion of Candidate Skill testing,
8. Passing the IBA Online Exam.
For candidates seeking certification through the Experience Route, candidate projects are required. The candidate's supervisor will be the person responsible for assigning and evaluating the candidate projects.
Your Personal Details:
Candidates will receive 50 hours of supervision of the 1000 hours of supervised practice.
Two different types of supervision are required of supervisors:
1. Direct Observation Supervision and
2. Non-observation Supervision.
During the supervised practice hours, the candidate's supervisor will conduct Candidate Skills Testing (CST) on the implementation of a skill set expected of the candidate based on the roles and skills being demonstrated under supervision.
One of the most important aspects of being certified as an IBA is continuing to learn and develop professionally.
12 hours of continuing education are required prior to certification, and must include:
